Born 1960 in Vienna. Studies in mineralogy and crystallography at the University of Vienna with a minor in petrology and geology; PhD in 1989. Between 1985 and 1988 assistant at the Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography at the University of Vienna. Between 1989 and 1992 part time employments at the Institut of Petrology, University of Vienna and at the BVFA - Arsenal (XFA of rocks and soils and material testing).

Since 1992 curatorial assistant for the mineral and gem collections.

Main activities: Non-destructive mineral identification with XRD, gemmology, spectroscopy in UV-VIS-IR.
